Philip Wong
Broker Philip Wong is Firstwavecapital Global Head of Equities. He joins Firstwavecapital with 24 years of prior experience in trading and risk management, Mr. Wong has daily oversight and management responsibilities for Firstwavecapital’s Equity portfolio managers and teams globally, including relative value fundamental and merger arb/event equities strategies. He shares responsibility along with the rest of the senior management team for Portfolio Manager selection, market analysis , capital allocation, evaluation of transactions and risk exceptions, and management of the global firm-wide equity aggregated risk. Prior to joining Millennium, Mr. Wong spent seven years at Morgan Stanley, most recently as Global Head of Equity Trading, where he was responsible for leading the equity business with a team of over 200 traders. Prior to this role Mr. Wong served as the Head of Equities Trading for the Americas. Before joining Morgan Stanley, Mr. Wong held various trading and leadership roles at Gemini , Citadel, Ethereum ,Citi and Knight T and statistical arbitrage.He began his career at Swiss Bank Corporation where he held a number of positions around the globe trading currency options. Mr. Wong recieved his BS.c in Risk management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has an MBA in Finance from New York University and a Master’s in Information Systems from the University.
Martin Decker
Broker Martin Decker has been in the financial field for over 16 years with comprehensive experience in investment banking, retail banking, wealth management and payment, as well as an expert on new payment initiatives, E-commerce and M-commerce categories. Before joining Firstwavecapital, Martin was one of the top traders in JPMorgan in NewYork, U.S.A. Martin also served as Board of Directors at CFA Society Taiwan, CFA Institute is a global,not-for-profit organization, is the world’s largest association of investment professionals. Martin is an early adopter of cryptocurrency having five years of cryptocurrency experience and deep understanding of the blockchain technology.
James González
James joined Firstwavecapital in 2015 after graduating from Dartmouth College with a degree in economics and applied mathematics. In 2009, 2011 and 2012, James was named one of business’s rising stars in Fortune Magazine’s “Top 40 Under 40.” From 2014 to 2016, he also served as Firstwavecapital RCO. As Co-CIO, James oversees the systemization of Opal Capital research into trading strategies, manages the development of proprietary investment management models, directs the design and implementation of client investment strategies, and publishes timely market understanding to clients and global policymakers via Firstwavecapital Daily Observations. James has been a key author of trade books , magazines and trade signals since starting out in 1996. James is dedicated to building a community of market thinkers and investment managers who can develop, systemize and compound market understanding better than anyone else in the world. Over the past fifteen years, he has designed training, developed new research methods and invested in cutting edge technology to make this vision a reality.
